The Nest is an independently run climbing and fitness centre in Hayes, West London. We have a small but enthusiastic team who are passionate about climbing and the community that we have built around the sport here at our centre. Alongside our climbing walls we also have a fully equipped gym and studio, where we run regular weekly classes.

Full Time Duty Manager (Weekends +)
​
As a Duty Manager you will be responsible for managing our front of house team, and ensure excellent standards in customer service are met. We will expect you to have an enthusiastic and driven personality, invested in not only managing a team but actively contributing to growth of the centre. Although the primary focus of the role is ensuring the safe and efficient management of the centre, the right candidate will be quick to learn and work independently to pick up additional responsibilities across all facets of the business. (Marketing, business growth, operational procedures).
This will require excellent organisation and interpersonal skills and as such prior management experience in the climbing industry or similar mixed use leisure facility is desirable.
Duties include:

Acting as manager in the absence of the centre manager

Performing general reception and centre work, including but not limited to instruction, cleaning, making coffee’s etc.

Ensuring the safety of all customers and maintaining the centre's facilities.

Management of the front of house team including subcontractors and part-time staff to complete all necessary task involved in the operation of the centre.

Provide support and ongoing training to other staff members.

Suggest improvements across the centre, based on customer feedback.

Support the Centre Manger with a variety of operational duties including but not limited to HR, Safeguarding, Marketing

The right candidate will have:
​

Experience managing a small team in the climbing or similar leisure industry.

Flexible to work evenings and weekends if required.

Enthusiastic, outgoing and passionate about customer service.

Be proactive, and able to take on tasks / projects to ensure the continued growth of the centre.

Desired skills/experience (but not essential):

​Knowledge of Rock Gym Pro
-
Instructing qualifications - CWA/CWI or equivalent
-
Coaching Experience (Foundation/Development Coach)
-
First Aid trained

In return we offer:​

​Starting salary of £26,000 - £27,000 (Negotiable depending on experience)

At least 32 hours per week (4 days minimum)

Squad Coach (Part / Full-Time)
​​
The primary aim of the role will be to oversee and run our Nest Climbing Squad. The squad is made up of a small group of passionate climbers, aged 12+, who climb with us twice a week, some of whom compete at youth events in the South East.
​​
We’re looking for an enthusiastic coach to take on running and planning these sessions on a weekly basis who is excited in the opportunity to develop the climbing of our promising young athletes.
​
If desired this role could be incorporated into the full-time duty manager position (currently advertised) and offered as a full time 40hr per week position.
Duties include:

Delivering 2 x 1hr squad coaching sessions per week

Session Planning to ensure individual sessions are of a high quality, but also stand to work towards medium- and long-term climbing goals and development.

Occasional attendance to youth climbing competitions around the London area.

Advisory support to our head of climbing helping us shape and improve the delivery of our other coached sessions.

The right candidate will have:

Minimum of 2 years + coaching experience

Relevant qualifications- Performance Coach or Dev Coach preferred
